BSC Information Technology

BSc IT is a 3-year program that focuses on databases, networking, and software. Students learn about software engineering, software development, web design etc. Students learn about processing and storing information. There are various positions you can apply for after completing BSc IT, especially in the IT sector as well as public and private sector jobs. The admissions can be merit-based or entrance based depending on the university or college.

BSc IT Eligibility for BSc Admission requires successful completion of 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized board. Admission is mostly done on the basis of merit. However, there are few BSc IT Colleges in India that take admissions on the basis of entrance exams.

BSc IT is one of the most sought-after courses at the UG level. The course focuses on theoretical and practical mathematics instead of leaning toward specific technologies. You will learn about managing databases, networking, securing, storing, and processing information.  BSc IT graduates can apply for a job in the fields of education, pharmacy, space research, biotechnology, environmental management etc.

Major corporations like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Vodafone, and HCL have many positions for BSc IT graduates. IT industry is one of the best-performing sectors in the Indian economy with industry revenue touching USD 226 Billion in FY22. 4.5 Lakh employees got hired in IT firms across India proving that a large amount of resources is required in the industry.

BSc IT Admission takes place mostly on the basis of merit. Through the merit based admission process, the students are judged on the basis of their marks in the class 12 board exam. Students will have to visit the college website or the college itself for the application process.

Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a recognized Board in the science stream having Physics, Chemistry and Math/ Biology as their main subjects.

You also have the choice to go independent and be a freelancer.
